YEA Boss Malik Basintale Defends Launch of 2 Job Apps
YEA CEO Malik Basintale Clarifies Decision to Launch Two Job Apps

The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Mr. Malik Basintale, has justified the agency’s decision to launch two separate mobile applications aimed at enhancing job accessibility for Ghanaians.
His response follows growing public concerns about why YEA opted for two distinct platforms instead of consolidating services into a single application.
Why Two Job Apps? YEA CEO Responds
Addressing the issue on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, Mr. Basintale clarified that each application serves a specific purpose.
“The first app is dedicated to artisans and skilled professionals such as plumbers, carpenters, tailors, masons, and electricians. This platform is designed to connect businesses and individuals with skilled workers, both locally and internationally,” he stated in a Facebook post.
He further revealed that YEA is launching a new directorate to facilitate employment opportunities abroad.
Public-Private Partnership to Boost Artisan Jobs
Mr. Basintale claims that the job app for artisans is a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project. The private sector partner will be in charge of managing the platform, while YEA will provide skilled labor.
Over 100,000 jobs are expected to be created in the unorganized sector as a result of this program, providing talented workers with improved access to markets and employment possibilities.
YEA Job Centre – A Gateway for Job Seekers
By connecting job searchers with numerous firms in a variety of industries, the second app, called the YEA Job Centre, will serve a wider job market.
The Job Centre app, which is user-friendly and available to all Ghanaians, ensures that job seekers of all skill levels can find work prospects without requiring advanced IT abilities, in contrast to the original app, which only targets artisans.
No Financial Burden on YEA
In response to public worries regarding the financial effects of releasing two distinct applications, Mr. Basintale gave the assurance that YEA’s budget would not be strained by either platform.
By offering a structured approach to job placement and these cutting-edge digital technologies, YEA hopes to address young unemployment and make it simple for both skilled workers and general job searchers to get in touch with possible employers.
